Breast enlargement is the number one cosmetic surgery procedure in Europe.

Its popularity shows no sign of waning and requests for surgery come from ever younger potential patients.

However, is breast enlargement surgery really an option?

Should women be happy with what nature gave them or should they be still persevering with the chicken fillets as they have done for generations before?

Cosmetci surgery is always in the news and media.

Having breast enlargement is so common these days, almost a way of life like getting your eyes fixed or having your hair coloured, everyone is doing it, why not you?

We live in society that seems to offer us a solution to everything. Anything can be fixed these days. But does this quick fix solution of breast enlargement surgery have women queuing up at the Plastic Surgeons office all too quickly?

Most younger girls attending a breast enlargement consultation will often arrive with a willing parent, usually a mother who is no stranger to the procedures.

Maybe this is just progress.

For some women a breast enlargement surgery alone is not enough. Where the breast have drooped dramatically a breast enlargement surgery alone is not enough to restore what was there before, if indeed it ever was there in the first place.

Over the years gravity can takes its toll and lots of women are shocked that they require additional procedures called mastopexy or breast uplifts.

Having an additional mastopexy procedure of course increases costs and introduces an additional scar, something that was probably not considered in the original thought planning. This can make some women nervous.

Having an extra vertical scar is a worry to many and throws the whole breast enlargement surgery option into a quandary. It’s a big decision and for some women a bridge too far and they choose not to go ahead.

For those that do , they face up to the fact that the mastopexy scar was a necessary evil and overall the result is usually very pleasing once the mind has adjusted to the inevitable extra scar.

Of course, some women simply trawl the Plastic Surgeons offices until they find a Doctor willing to carry our breast enlargement surgery without the mastopexy. These women often end up very disappointed and suffer the effect of “rock in the sock” syndrome.

In this area, there is little or no volume on the higher part of the breast, the rest being towards the bottom. Not very nice to look at.

Its important to get at least three consultations with Plastic Surgeons to get a broad opinion as to what can be achieved in your particular case.

You may be very surprised at the different opinions you will face.

Above all, you must have a clear idea of what you want to achieve from your breast enlargement surgery and know if you are prepared to accept any compromises along the way.
